Santa

Haidyn went to see Santa for the first time yesterday (11/20/09). She wasn't too thrilled about sitting on his lap. The tears came pretty quickly. She did like the candy cane she got afterwards though. Hopefully next year will go a little better.

We're all excited about Christmas this year. Haidyn loves the Christmas tree and especially Mike's rocking horse ornament. She points it out several times a day. Shopping has been nice, I can buy presents right in front of her. I don't think I'll get away with that next year.

Halloween 2009

Haidyn was a Hunny Pot this year. She had a blast going door to door and getting candy. Too bad her Mom and Dad didn't let her eat everything she got. :) She even got to go trick or treating at daycare too, she had lots of fun going out with her friends.

Random update

Not too much going on. Haidyn is fighting off a cold and battling some teeth coming in. She's having a rough time being ganged up with both issues. She's a tough one though.

Our pediatrician had told us that she might potty train early because she has such a big vocabulary already. Thinking that she can verbalize earlier than some other kids that she has to go. Well, she is quite clear in letting us know that she does NOT want to go on the potty. Oh well, it's still early, we'll let her decide when it's time.

She's learning more and more words every day. She loves to "paint" with her watercolor set and of course crayons are a big hit as well. She's still quite obsessed with Little Einsteins. Guess there could be worse things she's obsessed with.

All in all she's doing well!

9/22/09 18 month check up

Haidyn is sort of doing well. She speaks a ton and the dr is very happy with that. She thinks she may even potty train early because she's so verbal. Although we're nowhere with that at this point, so we'll see. She's 34.5" tall and 26lbs 2oz. That's 97% for height and 48% for weight. Doctor says thats perfect!

Now for the bad part. She had developed some small red dots in her diaper area that multiplied throughout the day. I asked the doctor about them and it turns out she has hand, foot, mouth disease. She has a couple of dots on her hands, but the inside of her mouth is covered in ulcers. Wonderful. She doesn't have a fever though, so that's good. Hopefully she'll run through this quickly. Theres nothing you can take for it, it just needs to run it's course. She wasn't able to get her shots today, so we have to go back next week.

I got a slide!

Thank you Grandpa W! Haidyn loves her new slide. Not only is it a slide, but a place to sit and watch Little Einstein. She also found out that there's a hiding spot underneath the slide. She's going to get a lot of use out of her toy!

18 months old!

I can't believe she's a year and a half already. Other than catching a cold on her birthday, she's doing well. She seems so advanced for her age. Maybe we're just typical parents and think their child is the smartest kid ever... or maybe she just really is. :) She learns things so quickly. Every day she has another word or two or three. We've lost count now. It's somewhere over 70. She even looks like a little girl now rather than a baby. Her 18 month get well appt is on the 22nd, I'll update her stats then.

New sandbox

Haidyn has a new sandbox. Mommy and Daddy worked very hard (well, Daddy worked hard, Mommy just painted) to make it for her. She seems to really enjoy it. So does Paisley. haha.

15 Month Appt

15 Months Old.

Haidyn had her 15 month appt and it went well. Doc was happy with how she's growing. She's in the 90th percentile for height and 75th percentile for weight. We do need to take her morning bottle away and get her weaned off her night time one by 18 months. I didn't think it would be that difficult, but she misses her morning bottle! It's only day 2, so hopefully that will get better. She's still a little off from getting her vaccinations, but otherwise is doing well.

Update 4/28/09

Now that the weather is getting nicer, we're spending more time outside which suits Haidyn just perfectly! She loves running around the yard, climbing up and down the step to the patio and of course, chasing Paisley. When we're in the front yard, she likes to see how close she can get to the street before we yell at her. She's always pushing the boundries!

Another First

Haidyn is doing great. She's really getting the hang of this whole running thing. She loves to run around in the back yard. She tries to chase Paisley (or maybe it's the ball, I'm not sure). Hopefully it will warm up soon so we can spend more time outside. She loves to play with her ball. She'll throw it and even kick it. We might have a soccer player on our hands. Or maybe a Track & Field star. She likes to hold the ball by her face like she's going to do the shot put. She's playing hide and seek now. She does the seek part, she gets very excited when she finds someone!

Haidyn's First Birthday

1 Year Old.

We had a nice birthday. I got to work from home that day so we were able to spend the day together. We met Daddy for lunch and he snuck Haidyn some french fries. Afterwards we went and got a couple of helium balloons. She's not so sure about those things. All was good until the end of the day when she took a tumble down the back stairs. I took the gate down to let Paisley out and didn't worry about anything because she was in the living room with Mike. Well, she's pretty fast now, but the time I went down the stairs, let Paisley out and turned around, Haidyn had made it from the living room to the back stairs and fell. She got a couple of bumps on the head, but otherwise is doing fine. She even got to have some treats because we felt so bad. She got to eat TWO mini cupcakes and even got some orange juice. She's been cut off from the juice because we're trying to transition her from formula to milk and it's not going so well. I think she'd take another tumble to be allowed to have orange juice again.

First Black Eye (2/16/09)

Haidyn took her first nasty spill. Not sure how she even did it, she was down for a nap, woke up screaming and had a black eye.

Just a quick update (2/11/09)

Figured I should do an update on what Haidyn is up to at 11 months. She's so close to walking. She tries to walk first, but after anywhere from 3 to 7 or 8 steps, she falls on her bum and then crawls from there. She's still a happy little girl. Loves to eat, dance and talk. A lot. She's always on the move, but will stop for a second if "good" song comes on. She likes to ride her trike, but her feet don't touch yet so you have to push her. She loves the song "Old McDonald had a Farm." Not sure why, but if she's cranky, it will calm her right down. Can't think of anything else right now, I'm sure I'm forgetting a ton though. I'll update again if I think of anything else.

Mystery tooth (2/11/09)

We noticed tooth number 8 last weekend. She now has four on the top and four on the bottom. Not sure when that last one came though, but I'm glad it was an easy one!

Getting more mobile (1/26/09)

Haidyn is starting to take a couple of steps. She's getting more and more confident every day too. Not too much longer and we'll be chasing her all over the house!

Haidyn is doing great. Her temper is showing a bit though, she gets frustrated when she wants something and can't communicate it to you. So she just kind of growls and turns her face a beautiful shade of dark purple. :P

She has her definite likes and dislikes and they change every day. She is very independent and is constantly on the move. You can coax a hug and sometimes a kiss out of her when she's sleepy though.

Two More Teeth! (1/13/09)

Haidyn finally has her front two teeth. Yay! Hopefully she'll sleep better tonight now. Last night was a rough one.

10 Months Old. (1/11/09)

5th Tooth and 1st Flu and Ear Infection

Haidyn's fifth tooth finally came through! That top one that's been on the verge for weeks now decided to finally come out. She also got through her first flu. She was nice enough to share with Mommy, so Daddy had to take care of us both. After a couple days of the flu not getting any better, we took her to the doctor. Good thing because she also had a double ear infection. Through it all she was a trooper though.
