Ring those Bethlehem Bells, was the theme for this year's St. John's PK- 2nd grade Christmas program. Haidyn was a bell ringer. I'm glad she told me beforehand, otherwise I would have been quite concerned when she didn't walk out with the rest of her class. :) Each student was asked to make a bell ornament for the school Christmas tree. Haidyn got to take hers home this week. Now we just need to get a tree at home so we have something to hang it on. :)

Thanksgiving play
Haidyn made a mighty fine native American at the school's thanksgiving play. It was put on by the first and second graders. Next time you see Haidyn, ask her to sing, "I'm a little Turkey." :)

Dress up
Yep, those are ballet slippers Eli is wearing! Love that he's definitely a rough and tough boy, but will still play dress up with his sister.

She can float!
Haidyn is doing great in swim class. She's really conquering her fear of water. She's getting more and more confident each class. It was a big deal for her to even get her chin in, now she's bobbing and even floating now. Go girl! I'm so proud of her!

Gymnasics
Eli had his first gymnastics class tonight. Coach Rich said he did great! It's a little bit of a free for all, but Eli ran and jumped and swung and had a great time! And he told me afterwards... "Class was awesome!"

Bubblefest 2014
The kids had a good time at Bubblefest. Its put on by the Elgin Public Museum. The favorites were being inside a big bubble and putting their hand through a sheet of bubble without popping. It was well worth the $2 admission for a little entertainment. :)

Mega Extravaganza 2014
Haidyn had her gymnastics show. She got to show off her skills, got a tshirt and medal. Woo hoo!
She just had her class last night. They did testing and she moves up another level to intermediate. Each class is 1.5 hours now. I need to get Eli into class, he had a hard enough time sitting for an hour. :/

Kindergarten class of 2014
The kindergarten class had their celebration last night. They sang some songs, shared some of their artwork and talked about what they want to be when they grow up. Haidyn wants to grow plants when she grows up. :)

And this is what a potty
Trained boy looks like! Sporting his big boy underwear! No more diapers, even overnight. Who said boys are hard to train? Easiest potty training I ever did. He did it all himself. Had a few accidents in the beginning, but he took to it fast. Yay!

Easter turned out to be a beautiful day! Service in the morning, then playing outside the rest of the day. The kids were happy with their baskets filled with jammies from the Easter bunny.

Little Lambs
Eli had his first day of school today. He is in the Little Lambs class at St. Johns. It's for two year olds and is taught by or preschool teacher Mrs. Childers. Eli was a little bummed that I didn't drop him off at the door like I do for Haidyn and walked him to his classroom. He high-fived Mrs. Bimler (3rd grade teacher he knows from the children's message at church), and gave me a kiss and walked in his classroom with Mrs. Childers without any worries. Class is two hours and then he will go with Miss Karen to Cougar Camp for a little bit. Haidyn will meet his down there after she is out of class. Such a big day for our little boy!

Four teeth missing
The things are falling out left and right! Haidyn has now lost the bottom four teeth and the top two front ones are getting wiggly. Geesh, hope the tooth fairy has a stash of singles ready to go.
Haidyn is 6!
We had a successful pirate party! Treasure hunt, Pin the patch on the pirate, Capture the flag... The games were a hit and everyone had fun!

7 inches ....
Of snow yesterday. What are you going to do? Play in it!!
I wish I could have caught a picture of Eli scooping up a bunch of snow in his shovel and dumping it on his sisters head. It was awesome!

It's gone! After hanging on by a thread for almost a week, Haidyn and her friend Angelina pulled it out in Cougar Camp (St Johns after school program).

Note
Haidyn passed her first written note to me the other day. I was on the phone so she wrote this note all by herself and slipped it to me.
"I need you to get the dress up stuff"

Sledding!
We took the kids sledding yesterday over by mom's place. Took a few runs to get the massive amount of snow packed down enough to slide down. We did have fun though!
